Work In Progress

This page is full of some resources you may find helpful. It is by no means a comprehensive list of what may suit your parenting style or goals. Just some of my favourites. It includes books, websites, blogs, organizations to contact etc.

If you're interested in local resources please contact me and I will send you a local resource list.

There are often articles published that shine a postitive, or much needed light on the subjects of peaceful parenting, postpartum heath, and lactation. When I find them, I will post them here. If you come across something you feel I should share here for others, please email a link to me!

Land Acknowlegement

We acknowledge that the land on which we live and gather is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Acjachemen (Juaneño) and Luiseño (Payómkawichum) peoples. These Indigenous nations have stewarded this land for countless generations, cultivating a profound connection to its mountains, valleys, and waterways.

The Acjachemen's ancestral lands stretch from Aliso Creek in Orange County to Las Pulgas Canyon in San Diego County. They resided in permanent, well-defined villages and seasonal camps, relying on harvesting and processing acorns, grasses, seeds, and bay shellfish. Their social structure was organized into clans, each with its own resource territory and political independence, guided by the Nota (clan chief) and a council of elders.

The Luiseño people inhabited the inland valleys from the Santa Monica Mountains to the San Jacinto Mountains. They were skilled artisans, known for their finely woven baskets, intricate beadwork, and decorative pottery. Their culture is rich in traditions and ceremonies, passed down through generations, reflecting a deep connection to the land and their ancestors.

Today, their descendants continue to honor their heritage and contribute to the cultural fabric of Southern California.
